11 March 1999: French glass company Saint-Gobain subsidiary, Gullfiber Polska of Poland, launched its first production line of glass wool, which is used to make insulation materials for the construction industry. Saint-Gobain invested a total of US$ 60 million in its Gliwice plant over a period of two years.
