Kuwait“s Gulf Glass Manufacturing Company has won a KWD 411,800 (USD 1.4 million/EUR 1.17 million) order to supply glass bottles to Lebanese Societe Moderne Libanaise Pour Le Commerce (S.M.L.C.) in 2006, the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) said on 3 January 2006. S.M.L.C. is the franchisee and bottler of US soft drinks maker PepsiCo Inc in Lebanon. On 22 December 2005, Gulf Glass Manufacturing said it sold its 3 million share holding in local Qaroura Products for KWD 879,000 (USD 3.0 million/EUR 2.5 million), booking a KWD 115,000 (USD 393,800/EUR 325,700) gain from the deal. Established in 1981, Gulf Glass Manufacturing posted a net profit of KWD 762,000 (USD 2.6 million/EUR 2.2 million) for the 1H of 2005, up from KWD 318,900 (USD 1.1 million/EUR 913,400) for the same period of 2004.
