Kuwaiti glass products maker Gulf Glass Manufacturing Company has signed a deal worth KWD 2.7 million (USD 9.2 million/EUR 7.5 million) to supply glass bottles in 2004 and 2005 to United Beverage Company, the Kuwaiti franchisee and distributor for U.S. soft drinks maker PepsiCo Inc, it was reported on 30 March 2004. Under the contract, the company will supply bottles to United Beverage worth KWD 1.35 million (USD 4.6 million/EUR 3.8 million ) in 2004. United Beverage makes and distributes Pepsi-Cola products including Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, 7UP, Diet 7UP, Mirinda, Mountain Dew and Shani. The company also manufactures and distributes Pepsi-Cola“s Aquafina purified drinking water and the local brands Shreen, Samar and Ghalia. United Beverage is located in Subhan Industrial Area and has a capital of KWD 10 million (USD 33.9 million/EUR 27.9 million). The company was established by the merger of Kuwait National Bottling Company and Sevenup Bottling Company in 2000. Gulf Glass Manufacturing posted a net profit of KWD 736,400 (USD 2.5 million/EUR 2.0 million) for 2003, up from KWD 591,600 (USD 2.0 million/EUR 1.6 million) in 2002.
