Guardian Llodio Uno, S.L., a processor and manufacturer of laminated, solar, acoustic and satin glass for construction will build a new processing line next to its facilities at Tudela (Navarra, north-east Spain). Construction work, which could begin later in 2008, will absorb more than EUR 30 million and could be completed in early 2010. The new facility, which will cover an area of 9,000 square meters, will target production of thin flat glass for solar and thermal control. Guardian Llodio Uno operates plants in Llodio and part of the Tudela factory. In early 2007, it took over building glass processing following the demerger and closure of Guardian Navarre, S.L., which transferred its business to float glass producer Guardian Industries Navarre, S.L. Both companies are part of the group led by Guardian Glass Espaa C. Vidriera, S.L, which markets the output of the two subsidiaries specialized in building glass, and in turn is the Spanish representative of the US multinational Guardian Industries. Guardian Llodio Uno, after taking on the Guardian Navarre former business after the demerger, posted sales of EUR 267.02 million in 2007, compared with EUR 132.82 million in 2006, with own resources of EUR 229.54 million, net profit of EUR 120.51 million and 688 employees.
