Guardian Industries began construction of a USD 240-260 million glass plant in the Russian city of Ryazan on 7 September 2006, company vice president James Moore was reported to have said. The plant will produce up to 750 tonnes of glass daily. Production is scheduled to start in mid-2008. The plant is expected to export about 20% of its output to the Ukraine and Belarus. Guardian is one of the world“s largest manufacturers of float glass and fabricated glass products. Headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, Guardian Industries has a presence in 21 countries.
