As part of its strategic re-positioning plan, US-based Global Link Technologies, Inc. announced in mid-July that it had finalized an agreement to purchase Empire Glass Companies, Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona. Empire is a leader in the windshield repair and replacement industry with over eight locations in seven states and 97 employees. The company realized US$ 13.8 million in annual sales for fiscal year 2001 with a US$ 2.1 million net profit. Empire plans to expand into 15 additional markets during the next 24 months. Present management shall continue to operate the company.
