The US Department of Labor has turned down a petition for trade adjustment assistance for a group of workers at Glenshaw Glass Company, Pennsylvania, which closed on 22 November 2004. Following the filing of the petition by the United Steelworkers of America on behalf of mold equipment repair workers at Glenshaw Glass, the Labor Department opened an investigation on 3 January 2005. However, on 23 February 2005 the Department issued its negative determination, which is applicable to all workers at the subject facility on 1 December 2004. The Department said that “no new information or change in circumstances is evident which would result in a reversal of the Department“s previous determination.”
