Belgian glassmaker Glaverbel, recently bought by Japan“s largest glassmaking company Asahi Glass Co. Ltd., will improve its market possibilities as part of a multinational group, Glaverbel“s CEO Luc Willame said in an interview on 1 May 2002. Glaverbel“s CEO will be allowed to take financial decisions on projects worth up to EUR 43 million without calling general meetings of the group“s board of directors, Willame added. Glaverbel expects to achieve slightly lower year-on-year results for 2002. Glaverbel posted a consolidated net profit of EUR 131.1 million in 2001.
