Belgian glassmaker Glaverbel posted a EUR 67 million consolidated net profit for the first half of 2002, compared to a consolidated net profit of EUR 71 million for the same period of 2001, it was reported on 30 August 2002. Glaverbel, which is owned by Japanese glassmaker Asahi Glass, generated a EUR 965 million turnover in the first six months of 2002, compared to a turnover of EUR 918 million for the corresponding period of 2001. The company“s gross operating cash flow dropped to EUR 201 million in the first half of 2002, from EUR 204 million for the same period of 2001. Glaverbel“s operating profit decreased to EUR 111 million in the first six months of 2002, compared to EUR 127 million for the same period of 2001. The company forecasted a slight decrease of its net profit for the second half of 2002.
