18 December 1997: Belgian glassmaker Glaverbel is expected to announce a decision by the end of the year, regarding their new flat-glass factory location. The factory will be situated in southern Europe, but the exact location is still unknown. Terruel in Spain and French towns Rivesaltes in the Pyrennees-Orientales, Beziers (Herault region) and Lacq (Pyrennes Atlantiques) all want to accommodate the new plant, but Glaverbel chairman Luc Willame said the company has not made a decision yet as to what the final outcome will be.
