The Belgian glass group Glaverbel said it expects higher profits this year thanks to increased business with car companies and the high price of glass. An analyst estimated that earnings per share should reach BFr 270 in 1997 and BFr 350 in 1998. The company is expected to announce an acquisition soon. At the Annual General Meeting in May it indicated it was interested in buying a company in South or Eastern Europe.
