Glaverbel Czech Teplice recorded a net profit of CZK 775 million (EUR 24.8 million) for 2002, which was CZK 415 million less than in 2001, Glaverbel spokeswoman Alena Janotkova said. Revenue from the largest producer of flat and automotive glass in Central and Eastern Europe amounted to CZK 7.547 billion. Janotkova added that the general meeting on 8 June 2003 decided to allocate CZK 331 million from the 2002 profits for payment of the dividend. According to her, the fall in net profit was caused by the problems of European automakers and by the exchange rate of the Czech koruna against US Dollar and the Euro. Glaverbel Czech Teplice employs over 1,200. The registered capital of the company is approximately CZK 3.5 billion. Netherlands-based Glaverbel Nederland Holding B. V. owns almost 100% of Glaverbel Czech. Glaverbel Czech is the majority shareholder in subsidiaries Glaverbel Fenestra, Glaverbel Glavostav, and Glaverbel Stod. (EUR 1 = CZK 31.335).
