One of the world leaders in glass bending and tempering equipment for the automotive and architectural markets, US-based Glasstech, Inc. has reached an agreement with another US-based company, Tem-Pace, Inc. to supply a new CRB advanced cylindrical glass bending and tempering system. According to a recent report, installation is scheduled for this fall, with production expected to begin by mid-November. The CRB was developed to meet the glass industry“s need for a system capable of handling frequent tooling changes and short runs. Glasstech“s Bob Kramer said, “In today“s competitive automotive glass markets, uptime, yield and high quality with statistical consistency are important. With the fast computer-controlled changeover, the system is ideal for short runs, and, with the consistent high quality of parts producd, this CRB technology is ideal for OEM production.” He added that the bending radius can be programmed from 890 mm to flat by simply entering the desired data in the computer.
