The official launch of Glasstech Asia 2011 – the only glass exhibition in the Southeast Asia region was successfully carried out, in the presence of Samuel Rumbaian, president of the Indonesia Flat & Safety Glass Association, marking a special milestone in Indonesia“s glass industry. Being reputed as the Glass Hub of Southeast Asia“, the glass exhibition provides regional industry players a deeper insight to the glass manufacturing, processing, products and materials sectors. It is therefore an excellent platform for industry players across the globe to enter and start working with the growing market of Southeast Asia. Taking up a total exhibition area of 8,000 sq.m., the 2010 edition of this three-day event attracted a total of 190 exhibitors across 27 countries, and 4,636 trade and public visitors from 45 countries. The 9th edition, to be staged at Jakarta International Expo, Indonesia, will be held from 23-25 November 2011, already has six confirmed pavilions: China, Germany, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore and the UK. Moreover, regional support has been obtained from Malaysia Peninsular Glass & Mirror Association, Philippines Glass & Aluminiums Association, Glass & Glazing Federation (UK), National Glass Association, Thai Glass Dealers Association, and Vietnam Glass Association.
