The next glasstec will be held from 23 to 26 October 2012, retaining the four-day duration of glasstec from Tuesday to Friday. The decision was taken at the first meeting of the Advisory Board of the world“s leading trade exhibition for glass, chaired by Dr. Bernd-Holger Zippe. In addition to company representatives, the Advisory Board also includes representatives of the supporting associations of glasstec, VDMA Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V., the Association of Guilds of the Glazier Craft (BIV) and the representation of the German glass industry, the German Association of the Glass Industry (BV Glas). Following its premiere in 2010, solarpeq International Trade Fair for Solar Production Equipment will also be held parallel to glasstec in 2012. The results of the official visitor survey indicate that the combination of the two exhibitions is expressly welcome. glasstec is the only international trade exhibition representing the entire value-added process surrounding all facets of the material glass. This makes it a magnet for mechanical engineering, the glass industry and the glazier trade, as well as for architects, facade planers and civil engineers. solarpeq, on the other hand, focuses on solar production technology for crystalline and thin-film photovoltaics. This includes, above all, manufacturers of machines, systems and related components, as well as materials for the production of solar end products. During the last glasstec/solarpeq in the autumn of 2010, a renewed sense of optimism was clearly noticeable among the 1,274 exhibitors following an economically difficult period for the glass industry. It ensured correspondingly high levels of satisfaction among both exhibiting companies and visitors to the exhibition.
