Preparations for Glasstec 2000 are running full-speed ahead according to the organizers, Messe Dsseldorf. Exhibitor invitations for the 16th International Trade Fair of machinery, equipment, applications and products have been sent out. In a press release from Messe Dsseldorf, it was reported that they and Glasstec 2000“s sponsors are expecting some 1,000 international exhibitors and 50,000 visitors at the event which is staged in Dsseldorf every two years. Nine of the Trade Fair Centre“s halls have been reserved, and the organizers anticipate that some 55,000 net square metres of exhibition space will be booked. In 1998, Glasstec achieved a foreign exhibitor rate of well over 50%, as well as a highly international pool of visitors. The organizers reported that at Glasstec 2000, there will again be the special show “glass technology live”, the third thus far. Spread over some 3,000 square metres, multi-faceted exhibits will illustrate new, state-of-the-art applications for glass in architecture. Messe Dsseldorf said that at Glasstec 2000, new features including the presentation of forward-looking themes such as solar technology/photovoltaics, as well as further developments in transparent heat insulation, auto glass and glass wool, are programmed.
