The first edition of Glasspex India was held in December 2009 in New Delhi with 139 exhibitors from more than 20 different countries, as well as 3,200 trade visitors. Some 98% of the exhibitors highlighted the high level of qualification amongst the visitors and 97% said that their participation was a success, while 93% anticipated good post-fair business – even during this adverse economic period. The second edition of the fair is therefore already scheduled for 12-14 January 2011, and registration is now open. Glasspex India is organized by Messe Dsseldorf GmbH and its Indian subsidiary Messe Dsseldorf India. It is affiliated to glasstec, which attracted over 55,000 visitors and over 1,300 international exhibitors to Dsseldorf at the last edition in 2008. Glasspex India brings all of the key players together in India, seen as one of the world“s biggest growth markets, with regards to the building industry, pharmaceuticals sector, the automobile industry, communication service providers or in the food and beverage industry. Glass is needed in all of these sectors to meet the population“s growing demand for modern, safe or hygienically packed products. The AIGMF (All India Glass Manufacturers“ Federation) has also offered its support to the fair, and will be holding its 9th trade conference, with the title Applications and Usage of Glass in Architecture. furthre support also comes from the German VDMA. The second Glasspex India will take place in Hall 6 of the Bombay Exhibition Centre Goregaon (East). The site is located about ten minutes from the international airport and 20 minutes from the city centre. The trade fair will present the entire supply chain through from manufacture to application in the fields of flat and hollow glass. Base glass will also be on the agenda, as will processed glass and refined glass.
