With the Middle East and its neighbouring regions identified as one of the key growth markets for the glass industry, Glass World 2010, the Middle East“s largest exhibition for glass products and glass technology, is set to attract more than 10,000 industry professionals to Egypt 5-7 May 2010. Now at its 4th edition, Glass World Exhibition will bring together more companies than ever, also incorporating recommendations from companies and associations from different countries including Turkey, Italy, Germany, China, Belgium, Finland, US, and Egypt will also be on hand at Glass World 2010 to introduce a wide range of new products and machinery to the local market. The Middle East and North Africa are planning investments amounting to USD 600 billion over the next five years – even in spite of the global economic crisis, and continues to post steady growth, becoming increasingly modernized, as there are thus substantial prospects for foreign manufacturers to start or expand their business in the domestic market. Also based on the Doing Business 2009 the World Bank has published a report Doing Business in the Arab World 2009. Of the 20 countries researched, only Egypt and Saudi Arabia were described as systematic reformers. The 2010 edition of Glass World also has a range of new initiatives, including a more interactive glass technology seminar programme which will give more focus on the interesting and useful technology to the region“s market.
