Belarus plans to privatize 315 state companies in 2002, the largest of which are the Beltransgaz state company, the Mogilev Automobile Plant, the Neman glass-works, and the United Computer Works in Minsk. The Belarus government also announced its intention to sell blocks of shares in the four largest petrochemical companies of the country. The Economy Ministry added that reforms in 85 state companies had been started in 2002.
