Machine parts worth more than USD 12,000 were stolen from a mold shop at the Millville, New Jersey plant of The Glass Group Inc., which was recently acquired by Gerresheimer Group. The theft occurred between 12 September and 11 October 2005, police said. Small thimbles, plates, plungers and other items were taken from a parts cage that is surrounded by a 2.5 meter high fence, police said. Bill Everland, the day shift manager, told detectives that only a few employees have access to the cage. Everland speculated that the thefts occurred at night. Many employees come to work with bags and coolers and most wear gloves, he told police. All of the parts were made of nickel alloy and would weigh a total of about 414 kilograms. Their estimated value is USD 12,427, according to a company audit.
