A world-famous glass furnace in England“s Black Country is set to become a major tourist attraction on the completion of a UK 1.6 million restoration project. The historic Red House Cone at Wordsley is being improved in a joint initiative by Dudley Council and glassmaker Stuart Crystal. The 80ft tall cone is one of five of its kind remaining in the world today and dates back to 1776. It stands on a canalside site along what is known as the Crystal Mile, where many traditional glass-making firms of the Stourbridge area are located.
