US-based Gentex Corp. obtained an exclusive license to integrate Johnson Controls Inc.“s (JCI) HomeLink push-button remote control transceivers into Gentex“s automatic dimming rearview mirrors. In a recent press release, Gentex said HomeLink can learn the codes for up to three remote-controlled devices, including garage doors, gates, home lighting, entry door locks and security systems. HomeLink then activates those devices through pushing a button. Gentex provides products to the automotive industry and North American fire protection market. Johnson Controls provides automotive systems and facilities management and control.
