The Glass Association of North America (GANA) and the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA) have announced that their Fatalities and Injuries During Flat Glass Handling webinar can now be viewed on each organization“s website. During its live presentation, which took place 9 March, the webinar looked at the tragic results from the mishandling of flat glass in a manufacturing or fabrication facility, attracting 718 viewers. The webinar was presented by Mike Burk, manager of workplace, learning and performance with Edgetech I.G., who spent several months studying accident reports and putting together a sobering presentation that highlighted how too much sense of security can result in a tragic event. The industry definitely showed up to the live presentation, a clear indication of how important this subject matter is, says Marg Webb, executive director of IGMA. Mike gave a great presentation, and the feedback so far has been through the roof. Many of our attendees had great questions, adds Brian Pitman, GANA director of marketing and communications. Several even broadcast the webinar in conference rooms and cafeterias so that their employees would have a chance to learn from it. Both the webinar and its handouts are now available on GANA“s and IGMA“s website.
