PCB material supplier Fulltech Fiber Glass lighted the fire at its second fiberglass yarn furnace on 25 March 2010. The furnace, which will produce 30,000 metric tons of fiberglass yarns in 2010 compared to its installed production capacity of 45,000 metric tons, is programmed to enter commercial operations by May. Fulltech“s first fiberglass furnace has a capacity of 36,000 tons. Fulltech expects the quote for fiberglass yarn to increase to USD 1.6-1.7/kg in May compared to the current price of USD 1.5/kg, caused by strong demand for notebook PCBs, optoelectronics boards and HDI boards. The inauguration of this second furnace will position Fulltech as one of the top-three global electronic-grade fiberglass yarn manufacturers, along with Taiwan-based FPG Fiber Glass (Kunshan) and Taiwan Glass Industrial.
