Beverage maker Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd. is reportedly investing USD 43 million in a new glass plant in Vietnam, in order to gain a larger part of the market in that country. According to Fraser & Neave“s chief executive Tan Ang Meng, commercial production at the plant is expected to start in April 2011. Malaya-Vietnam Glass Ltd., 70%-owned by Fraser & Neave and 30%-owned by Saigon Beer Co. – Alcohol and Beverage Corp. will undertake the venture, which plans to target niche markets, including lightweight returnable bottles.
