Malaysia“s Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd announced a net profit of RM 23.6 million in the first quarter ended 31 Decembre 2000, substantially better than the RM 11.0 million recorded in the same corresponding period in 1999. Releasing its unaudited results, it said that group“s turnover rose by 27% to RM 396.9 million from RM 312.1 million, previously. It said that the improvement in the results was due to higher sales volume, partly resulting from the coincidence of the major festive seasons and the follow-on effect of better pricing.
