French fine crystal maker Baccarat, part of French luxury goods and hotels company Societe du Louvre, posted a EUR 126.7 million (USD 137 million) turnover for 2002, a 1.6% decrease from 2001. Strong sales in the final quarter of 2002, including the Christmas period, could not compensate for low results at the beginning of the year, group management said. Baccarat posted a EUR 41.85 million (USD 45.25 million) turnover for the fourth quarter of 2002, a 0.7% increase from the same period of 2001.
