Finnish safety glass maker Pilkington Lamino Oy, a subsidiary of the British glass group Pilkington Plc, has appointed Markku Penttila as managing director effective from September 1, 2001. The company is to change its name to Pilkington Automotive Finland as of the end of November 2001. Markku Penttila is currently working as the production manager of Pilkington Lamino and will take over the new post from the present managing director Erkki Artama. Pilkington Lamino, which produces mainly glass for the automotive industry, has factories in four Finnish towns and employs 1,200 people.
