With eight months to go until the exhibition opens, confirmed space bookings for the second FESPA Digital exhibition already match the 16,000 sq.m. occupied by the inaugural event in Amsterdam in 2006. On this basis, FESPA expects the eventual floorplan to show a significant increase in the total size of the show, facilitated by the flexibility of the Geneva Palexpo exhibition centre, which is designed to allow the show to grow organically around the original core. Next year“s event was officially presented by Michael Ryan, FESPA group sales manager, in Milan on 8 November 2007, during a special evening where invited exhibitors, visitors, editors, and representatives of its Italian member association, Siotec, couls also speak to some of the top people of the FESPA organization. In recent years, FESPA has been held all over Europe; in Madrid, Munich, Amsterdam and Berlin, and in 2008 in Geneva, at the Palexpo: adjacent to the airport and railway station, and offering flexible halls which can readily accommodate an expanding show. Managing director for FESPA Events, Frazer Chesterman explains: The exhibitors that have enlarged their stands for FESPA Digital 2008 tell us that the additional investment is more than justified by the sales successes that they generate at FESPA shows. This is backed up by the feedback we had from exhibitors at our flagship FESPA 2007 exhibition in Berlin, 92% of whom said that the exhibition had met or exceeded their expectations. Frazer Chesterman concludes: The fact that leading vendors consider FESPA Digital 2008 as the global showcase for their digital product offerings is great news for visitors to the show. It means that printers coming to Geneva in April can be assured of the opportunity to see the full breadth of industry innovations under one roof, in a concentrated and compact format, over just three days. We are busy planning a comprehensive programme of knowledge-sharing initiatives designed to help visitors to the show evolve their businesses and develop a clear competitive advantage, so a couple of days in Geneva should be all the inspiration they need to take their enterprises to the next level. FESPA Digital 2008 will, for the first time, also be complemented by a dedicated Digital Textile Conference, giving digital textile printers the opportunity to combine a visit to the exhibition with a focused two-day learning experience.
