Polish skylight manufacturer Fakro will build two plants and create 250 jobs in 2005, the company said on 25 October 2004. The company is building a plant at Dobre, in the southeastern province of Malopolskie, creating 50 jobs. The construction of a plant in Rudnik, southeastern Poland, is scheduled to start by the end of 2004. The 10,000 sq m plant will employ 200. Both plants will make components for skylights. Facro has invested EUR 2.0 million (USD 2.6 million) in equipment for glass toughening and wood lacquering at its main plant in Nowy Sacz, southeastern Poland, in 2004. The company aims to raise sales by 20% to 30% a year. Fakro currently exports 70% of its produce to 40 countries. The company has eight distribution subsidiaries in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Ukraine and the USA. It plans to set up a distribution unit in China. The Fakro group comprises 17 companies with a staff of over 2,000. Fakro holds a 17% share of the world“s skylight market.
