Norbert Ullmann, owner of Ullmannglass Osterhofen (Bavaria, Germany), has taken over the Presidency of the Standing Committee of the European Glass Industries (CPIV), the European umbrella organization of the glass industry. The decision was taken at the General Assembly of the association on 30 May, where members, including national federations of the glass industry as well as sectoral associations of European producers of container glass, flat glass, crystal and domestic, special and reinforcement fibreglass were present. The General Assembly has also appointed Luc Willame, Chairman of Glaverbel as vice-president. CPIV represents more than 1,000 companies with around 210,000 employees in the EU, with a world market share of 30% and a production of Euro 30 billion.
