Dow Jones STOXX said recently that Italian utility Enel would replace French glassmaker Saint-Gobain in the Euro STOXX50 index on March 20. Enel would also replace Dutch supermarket Ahold in the STOXX 50 index on the same day. STOXX has also changed the sectors to which several companies were allocated. A full list of the changes is available on the Website www.stoxx.com. The STOXX conglomerates sector will be deleted because conglomerate companies are increasingly demerging into more focused companies, STOXX said.
