A machine for inspecting rotating glass containers with light source has been invented by Amir R. Novini of Akron, Ohio, Richard A. Sones of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Richard D. Diehr of Horseheads, N.Y., who were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,541,572 on 2 June 2009, assigned to Emhart Glass S.A., Switzerland. According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: “A machine for inspecting glass containers rotating at an inspection station. A camera images an area of interest on the glass container and continuous illumination of that area is provided by strobing a light source a number of times while the area is imaged on a camera the entire period.” The original application was filed on 23 October 2006.
