The Egyptian Glass Company has set out to install a second production line at a cost of US$ 70-75 million. The capacity of the new production line is planned at 600 tons per day. Egyptian Glass chairman, Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Wahhab, said that glass output has amounted to 400-415 tons per day since the company began operations in 1995. Mr. Abdul-Wahhab also announced estimated total sales for 2000 of US$ 125-130 million. Around 80% of the company“s local glass sales are to mirror producers. The company also manufactures smaller quantities of automotive glass.
