Edgetech“s regional sales manager, Jim Plavecsky, will once again present at the American Architectural Manufacturers Association“s Architects of a Better Mind on 30 September 2009. The seminar will be held in conjunction with GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo, in Atlanta, 30 September – 2 October 2009. Architects of a Better Mind is an American Institute of Architects-approved continuing education seminar offering courses related to the residential and commercial window, door and skylight industry. Plavecsky“s presentation, Designing Windows for Improved Sound Attenuation, covers how sound travels through the window, sound testing and design factors that will dampen sound, such as argon gas filling, glass laminating, controlling air leakage and the use of structural foam spacer systems. Architects who attend the full programme will earn eight learning units, all of which qualify as Health, Safety, Welfare credits; that“s the full year“s HSW requirement for AIA members. For a listing of topics and more information, visit the “Architects” section of AAMA“s website.
