The campaign was intended to raise awareness of the benefits of container glass recycling during the five days of the fair, the most important for the food sector in Spain. The initiative was launched on 6 March 2006 with the participation of the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Elena Espinosa, the President of Catalunya regional government, Pascual Maragall, and Ms. Espinosa“s counterpart in the regional government, Antoni Siurana i Zaragoza. Ecovidrio was present at the event with a stand in Hall 3, while four “patrols” moved among visitors and exhibitors to explain the benefits of glass recycling as well collect glass to be deposited in the 10 containers distributed around the fair.
