Pennsylvania-based lehr manufacturer E.W. Bowman, Inc., said recently that it has designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned four 5.5-metre wide annealing lehrs for the new, state-of-the-art O-I container glass factory at Windsor, Colorado. The Bowman-supplied lehrs are heated with natural gas proportional firing burners providing precise and automatic temperature control, and ensuring even lower energy usage. Each lehr provides over 250 MTPD of glass container annealing capacity, for direct lehr loading of ware produced on each of four identical lines. The Windsor plant serves major US brewers in the midwest and Rocky Mountain regions. E.W. Bowman is a 45-year old firm with head offices and manufacturing facilities in the US, a satellite office and staff in Chesterfield, UK, and additional manufacturing capacity in Eastern Europe.
