18 December 1997: US chemicals operation DuPont has recently come up with a new liquid crystal polymer resin, called Zenite 3130L, which has 30% glass reinforcement and is priced 10-15% below a comparable performance grade of Zenite LCP. The product is claimed to have good resistance to blistering which makes it suitable for most SMT assembly processes. DuPont is also expected to launch Zenite 7755, an ultra-high temperature low-warp resin and glass/mineral reinforced product, which will be targeted at lighting and office automation usage.
