Bulgaria“s Druzhba Glass plans to increase output at its Plovdiv plant by building a new glass furnace and a new glass packaging line. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2007. On completion, annual container glass output capacity is expected to reach 100 million units. The new furnace will incorporate modern technologies and meet environmental requirements, according to the company. Cyprus-registered Barek Overseas Ltd owns 50% of the capital of Druzhba Glass. Glassinvest, also registered in Cyprus, owns a 45% stake in the company. Druzhba Glass posted BGN 24.027 million profit for 2006, up by 45% year on year. The net sales revenue of the company totalled BGN 169.485 million in 2006, up from BGN 138.496 million a year earlier. The company has not yet published figures for the 1Q 2007.
