Dow Corning Corp., the silicon-based technology manufacturer which is equally owned by Dow Chemical Corp. and Corning Inc., said 1 May 2007 that its 1Q 2007 profit rose 33% on higher sales. The company earned USD 183.6 million compared with a profit of USD 138 million during the same period a year prior. Net sales rose to USD 1.18 billion from USD 1.03 billion. Michigan-based Dow Chemical is the USA“s largest chemical company. Corning, New York-based Corning makes glass, fiber optics and specialty materials.
