18 March 1999: Demaglass unveiled 339 new products this Spring, marking its most significant presence at the company“s two key trade shows, the International Spring Fair in Birmingham, and Ambiente in Frankfurt. In a recent company statement, the firm said it has also made some significant organizational changes over the past six months, which have led to a more streamlined approach to management and a speeding-up of the decision making process. Don Greaves, chief executive of the Demaglass Group has also taken on the role of managing director of the tableware division, while Mark Rammell has stepped up to become sales and marketing director. David Gavin is the new operations director, and Matt Sullivan has been appointed retail trade marketing manager. “Bringing such a vast number of new lines to market has taken considerable effort and energy; we have completely rationalized our stock and special products lines, with the result that our offer to retailers and their customers is bang on target in terms of design and availability,” said Greaves. “We are also achieving new levels of speed and efficiency in getting new products on shelves,” he added. “Over the past few months, we have rationalized and streamlined our design. sales, marketing and manufacturing operations at our production base in Chesterfield. We have refocused on new product development and placed increased emphasis on customer service; these combined initiatives have already resulted in a 15% increase in retail sales,” said Rammell.
