18 June 1998: UK“s Darby Group has announced that Roger Queen will be leaving the Scunthorpe-based glassmaker, where he is finance director, to take the finance director“s job at Wetherby chemicals company Meristem. Queen had been at Darby almost three years, replacing David Boddy who was killed in a motor accident. Darby chairman Michael Darby said Queen had been looking for a job nearer his home in Yorkshire. He had agreed to stay on until September so he could hand over to a successor. Mr. Queen, 34, qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse and worked in the corporate finance department of Coopers & Lybrand in Leeds.
