China Southern Glass Holding Co Ltd (CSG Holding) will put about CNY 4 billion into construction of a green-energy industry park in Dongguan City (Guangdong Province south China). It will be the biggest investment project ever launched by CSG Holding. The park, designed to cover an area of 47 hectares, will focus on production of solar energy cells, solar energy glass, super-white glass, and energy-conservation construction glass. On completion, the annual output value from the park will reach CNY 9 billion. The Shenzhen-based company signed an agreement on founding the park with Mayong Township of Dongguan City on 15 September 2005. The aim is to create the largest production base for solar energy cells in China, with a planned production capacity of 450 megawatt, expected to be completed by 2009. The energy-conservation construction glass project will provide 15 million square meters a year of quality glass to the market. Chairman of the company Chen Chao said that the founding of the park is in keeping with the state“s drive to develop renewable energy and energy-saving products, and also help the company readjust the composition of its profit and product mix.
