Glass packaging, wine and media conglomerate Cristalerias de Chile SA is looking to end its American Depositary Receipt program, the company said in a statement 19 April 2005. The company wants to delist from the New York Stock Exchange and deregister with the US Securities and Exchange Commission because of the “significant decrease” in the number of Cristales shares trading on the NYSE. Only 1.7% of shares in the company trade on the New York exchange and there are currently fewer than 300 US shareholders. “The company intends to remain listed on the Chilean stock exchanges,” while the delisting in the US will likely occur on or about 21 June 2005, the company said in its statement.
