Speaking at the AGM on 16 April 2008, Mr. Claro noted that rising energy costs and a threat of energy-rationing are at the root of his pessimism for the glass group. Cristalerias de Chile“s general director, Cirilo Elton explained to shareholders that the plant in Padre Hurtado saw its energy costs rise by more than 150% in May 2007 when Argentinian natural gas supplies came to a halt.
