Cristalerias de Chile SA posted a net profit for the 1Q 2005 ended 31 March of CLP 626.1 million compared to CLP 2.6 billion for the 1Q 2004, Chilean securities regulator SVS said at the beginning of May 2005. Sales rose to CLP 36.27 billion from CLP 34.35 billion a year earlier. Operating Profit was slightly lower at CLP 5.34 billion from CLP 5.44 billion for the the 1Q 2004, while non-operating losses deepened to CLP 4.15 billion from CLP 1.35 billion. Pre-tax profit fell to CLP 1.19 billion from CLP 4.10 billion a year earlier. Cristales is a conglomerate with holdings in the packaging, wine, and media sectors.
