The Crimean soda plant (Krasnoperekopsk) plans to invest UAH 74 million to upgrade its production facilities. Under a plan approved by board chairman Valerii Spytsa, the plant“s lime furnace No. 2 and its boiler No. 5 with an automatic control system will be modernized while its chemical water purification facilities Nos. 7 and 9 will be rebuilt in 2006. The company also plans to strengthen its slag dump and improve gas supplies to the plant in 2006. The Crimean soda plant, the largest producer of soda ash in Ukraine, boosted its output in comparable prices by 12.2% or UAH 44.534 million to UAH 409.574 million in 2005 compared with the same period of 2004.
