The Crimean Soda Plant (Krasnoperekopsk, Crimea) intends to launch operation of a turbo generator with a capacity of 6 megawatts before the end of 2007, according to a representative of the plant. The generator will produce electricity exclusively for the plant. “It is a turbine that will use our steam to generate electricity”, the representative said. The turbo generator will be launched as part of a program for introduction of energy-saving technologies at the Crimean Soda Plant. The Crimean Soda Plant ended 2006 with a net profit of UAH 7.658 million.
