The Crimean soda plant (Crimea, Krasnoperekopsk), the largest producer of soda ash in the Ukraine, closed 2004 with net profits of UAH 56.462 million, said commercial director Oleksandr Nechaev. In 2004 the Crimean soda plant increased net sales revenues by 48% or UAH 121.648 million compared to 2003, to UAH 374.029 million, he said. Nechaev added that in 2004 the plant exported about 60% of its output. In 2003, the company posted profits of UAH 3.244 million, having increased net revenues by 6.5% compared to 2002, to UAH 252.681 million. In 2004, the plant increased production by 13.3% or 75,000 tons compared with 2003, to 638,000 tons, including output of A-brand soda ash by 16% or 43,000 tons to 312,000 tons. The plant produces A brand (heavy soda) and B brand (light soda). RSI Erste BeteiligungsGmbH company (Hamburg, Germany) holds 89.48% of shares in the company.
