The Crimean soda plant has signed a deal with the Sumy, Ukraine-based JSC “Sumy Frunze NPO” on upgrades to the plant by 2009. Under the cooperation agreement for the 2006-2008 period, JSC “Sumy Frunze NPO” will provide equipment for the upgrading of the Crimean soda plant as well as work on strengthening the edges of its sludge dump, and improving gas supplies to the plant. The total cost of the work is UAH 5-7 million. The work is expected to improve product quality. The JSC “Sumy Frunze NPO” is one Europe“s largest companies producing equipment for the oil, gas, and chemical industries.
